Basic Services
One of the top concerns in the early phases of peacebuilding is to make sure that basic services are being met in order to promote the development of peacebuilding to prevent a return to war. These basic services include components like health care, clean water, sanitation, and food. Environmental aspects are crucial for providing basic services, making them a crucial part of environmental peacebuilding. Conflict may frequently be sparked by the neglect or unequal provision of administrative and basic services, particularly in countries where violence has recently occurred.M&E aids in determining if services are being received by the intended beneficiaries and whether their expected effects on peacebuilding efforts are being achieved. Hence, establishing M&E systems that monitor progress and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement is imperative for ensuring that basic services are delivered successfully.
