Following the creation of the "Environment and Security" journal, published in collaboration with SAGE, and the announcement that the Third International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding will be held in The Hague in collaboration with Leiden University in June 2024, the Environmental Peacebuilding Association is pleased to introduce new benefits to membership.
During the first six months of 2023, EnPAx:
- connected intergenerational professionals for shared collaboration and learning through a mentorship program initiated by the Young Professionals Interest Group (YPIG);
- launched the EnPAx Spotlight Series, showcasing high-profile leaders and diverse career paths in environmental peacebuilding through off-the-record online networking events exclusively for members;
- opened the submissions process for research articles, practitioner insights, book reviews, and more to be featured in the new journal on "Environment and Security"; and
- launched the Path to The Hague, a series of events leading to the Third International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding in 2024.
In addition, our Interest Groups for EnPAx members held a variety of events and supported further collaborations for research and practice within environmental peacebuilding.
Coming up in the next six months are several new benefits exclusively for EnPAx members. They include:
- free access to all issues of "Environment and Security" (with the first issue released in September 2023 and the second in December 2023);
- discounted registration fees for the Third International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding in The Hague (registration opens in October 2023); and
- special access to a hybrid event on “Analyzing the Environmental Impacts of Political Violence: Challenges and Opportunities”, presented by the Conflict and Environment Observatory (CEOBS) and the PAX Conflict & Environment Team as part of the Eighth Al-Moumin Distinguished Lecture on Environmental Peacebuilding, held on Tuesday, 19 September 2023.
In order to continue providing a high-quality experience to its valued members, and to support the work of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association in developing and promoting knowledge, new membership fees will apply from 1 January 2024. We encourage current members to renew their membership prior to 1 January, in order to take advantage of existing rates and ensure continued access to benefits.
