We are focusing today on Iran and its eastern neughbors, specifically Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. While Iran is often considered a Middle Eastern country, in fact, it's historical and its cultural ties are as strong if not stronger with its easter neighbors, with Afghanistan and South Asia and, of course, Iran will be a pivotal player as it has been all along in Afghanistan. Especiallu next year as the United States and NATO begin to withdrawl some if not all of their forced. We are launching a new issue brief this year that have some reccomendations for US policy. Including a bigger role helping Afghanistan manage its water resources, which is a key issue for Iran as a downstream neighbor.
